Chemka Hot Springs Day Trip : Maji Moto, also known as Kikuletwa Hot springs in Tanzania, is a paradisiacal oasis amidst the Tanzanian savannah that offers captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clean water, and deep foliage. Chemka Hot Springs, located a 2-hour drive from Moshi (Tanzania), the region’s primary climbing hub, is the ideal destination to come after a Kilimanjaro hike or safari excursion in Norther safari parks of Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti.
Chemka Oasis is a one-of-a-kind phenomenon: it is the only place in Tanzania (and most likely in East Africa) where groundwater actively interacts with geothermal sources, forming a series of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water of comparable purity to the best Dominican or Maldivian resorts.
TOUR ITINERARY
We’ll pick you up from your hotel early in the morning for the hour-long trip to Chemka Hot Springs. Hold on tight, since the road is quite bumpy and windy! Don’t forget to take in the breathtaking scenery and real Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the way while you drive.
When we arrive, you may be yourself. Linger at the spring’s side, taking in the clear blue waters and the rich greenery of the surrounding forest. Take a leisurely swim (remember, the waters are fairly warm, so you won’t feel like an Olympic sprinter) or float in your own world, listening to the water lapping and birds overhead. Why not try out the rope swing if you’re feeling daring? Playing is not just for children!
The pond can be very deep, up to 10 meters in certain areas, but the water is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. Eat your lunch under the shade of the trees, or if you like the sun, choose your own hot place. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to see the fauna that frequents the Chemka Hot Springs. In the evening after full exploration, we will drive you back and drop you off at your preferred place and this will mark the end of Chemka hot sprint day trip. Welcome back again!
