Exploring Burigi Game Reserve : Bugiri Chato is one of the 19 national parks in Tanzania. In 2019, Bugiri Game reserve became a national park in Tanzania. Initially, this reserve had three names Burigi, Kimisi, and Biharamulo. Later it was named Burigi Chato National Park. This reserve has about 4,707 square kilometers, preceded by the Serengeti reserve with 14,763 square kilometers, while the Ruaha national park seems to be the largest with 20,300 square kilometers. The Burigi reserve is the third largest compared to other Game Reserves in the country. Villages (48) and wards (18) from the districts of Ngara, Karagwe, Buharamulo, Muleba, and Chato are within the Burigi Chato Game Reserve.
