DAY 01: ARRIVAL INTO NAIROBI, KENYA

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met and picked up by our skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable Focus East Africa Tour guide and transferred to your accommodation for checking in, lunch, and recovering from your journey. If time allows and you’re not tired, you might have a city tour in the evening around Nairobi, one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. After the city tour, you will be driven back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight while getting ready for day two of your 12-day Kenya and Tanzania safari tour.

DAY 02: TRANSFER TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Your 12 Days Kenya And Tanzania Luxury Safari will get underway today when our guide picks you up from your hotel in Nairobi and drives you to Lake Nakuru National Park. A brief halt at the Great Rift Valley Escarpment will allow you to obtain a general look and learn a little bit about how the rift valley was created. Continue to Lake Nakuru after 30 minutes to get there in time for lunch at your resort. Take a break, eat lunch, and unwind for approximately an hour. There will then be an afternoon game drive until dusk. You will have a fantastic opportunity to visit the Lake Nakuru shoreline, which is home to many different bird species, lions that climb trees, and black and white rhino.

 DAY 03: LEAVE LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK / TRANSFER LAKE NAIVASHA

Get up early this morning to see the sunrise over the Aberdare Ranges while enjoying a hot buffet breakfast. Following breakfast, check out of the lodge and go on a wildlife drive to Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for a hearty buffet lunch at your lodge or camp. Check into your room, eat lunch, and relax. This afternoon, take a relaxing walk about the resort while taking in the scenery. An optional boat trip on the lake and a visit to Crescent Island will be available at an additional cost. Enjoy your magnificent afternoon at Lake Naivasha, and afterwards, feast on a nice dinner.

DAY 04: LEAVE LAKE NAIVASHA/TRANSFER MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Get up early to get a refreshing lake breeze. After a delicious breakfast, check out and drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Travel along the Great Rift Valley floor with a spectacular view of Mount Longonot, then through Narok town to arrive at your camp in time for lunch. Check in, have your hot buffet lunch, and then relax before your afternoon game drive at 1500hrs. After a short rest, begin the first introduction game drive in the afternoon, monitoring the many animal and bird species that inhabit this area with your driver-guide until dark.

DAY 05: FULL DAY IN MASAI MARA

You get up before dawn for a morning game drive to observe animals rise for a new day, then return to the lodge or tented camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll return to the forest for a full day of game viewing. The Masai Mara is famed for the Wildebeest Migration, in which over a million and a half animals migrate in from the Serengeti, joined by zebras and gazelles, in search of pasture and water. If you’re lucky and have the time, you might be able to see the beautiful Mara River crossing.

DAY 06: MAASAI MARA TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK IN TANZANIA

After breakfast, depart Maasai Mara, bringing picnic lunch boxes with you, and proceed to Isebania, the Kenya/Tanzania border. You will be traveling through the Kenyan countryside, passing through towns and villages along the way. Because this is a dirt road, this section of the journey might be lengthy depending on the weather. When you arrive at the Isebania border crossing, you will exchange vehicles and driver guides.

Go to Serengeti National Park with a Tanzanian driver-guide after clearing immigration and customs. As you approach the Serengeti National Park, enjoy a game drive en route as you make your way to your lodge or camp. This is a beautiful road trip through rural East Africa. Because a large portion of this journey passes through the national park, there are numerous possibilities to observe incredible animals. The drive to the Isebania border takes between 3 and 5 hours, depending on your camp location and the stops on your game drive along the route.

DAY 07: FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

On this day, we leave our accommodation after breakfast with a lunch box and spend the rest of the day in the Serengeti plains in search of animals. If we missed out on the wildebeests in Masai Mara depending on the time of our visit, then we are sure to see the herds in the Serengeti National Park. Among other animals, we are likely to spot lions, leopards, baboons, zebras, hartebeests, elephants, warthogs, and many bird species.

DAY 08: FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

This day is spent in the Serengeti plains. If you wish, you may go for a predawn game drive to see animals in the African rising sun. Today we have the option of doing morning and sunset game drives, then relaxing at the lodge or camp if you wish.

DAY 09: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

On the 9th day of your 12 Days Kenya And Tanzania Luxury Safari, after breakfast, we check out and go on with our en route game drives on our way out of the Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After arriving in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will have a game drive within the crater and can expect to see some of the big five animals, such as lions, buffaloes, and elephants.

The Ngorongoro caldera is the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. At approximately 20 kilometers across and 600 meters deep, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breath-taking natural wonder. Ngorongoro Crater is unique in that almost all the wildlife lives within the crater walls; hence, you have the opportunity to find the game easily. After your game drive, you will be driven outside of the park to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 10: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.

After breakfast, we hit the road again, this time down into the Rift Valley floor to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a small, Evergreen Park with stunning views of the Great Rift Valley walls. The park is fed by underground rivers that ensure an unlimited presence of animals all year round. What makes the park more popular are the flamingos and other varieties of aquatic birds and the legendary tree-climbing lion.

 DAY 11: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK.

This day we are off after breakfast to the fifth largest Tanzania national park; Tarangire National Park. This beautiful park is highlighted by the abnormally large herds of gigantic elephants and the massive baobab trees that dot the park. This park is also the home of some of the rarest birds and animals, like the Oryx, which can be spotted in this park in Tanzania. The Tarangire River is the lifeline of the animals in this park, and this turns the river bank into an action field of the wild as animals converge amidst the risk of predators as they come for the valuable drop of water.

DAY 12: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – ARUSHA – DEPARTURE.

In the morning, we go for a morning game drive if you wish, and then after breakfast, you will go for a nature walk at the park boundaries, accompanied by a Masai warrior. We will then drive to Arusha town, where the safari ends. From here, you can be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. If you are flying out of Nairobi then you will have three options to choose from. We can arrange one of the following transfer options depending on your preference and budget:
