12 days Kenya and Uganda safari is a trip that will take place across national parks in Kenya such as the famous Masai Mara national reserve, Lake Nakuru national park and also in Amboseli national park.
During the safari, you will also visit Bwindi national park for a gorilla trekking experience and Queen Elizabeth national park for
Day 1: drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara national reserve
You will be met by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari, after the briefing you start your drive to Narok town where you will have brief stop for craft shopping and seeing the local arts and crafts and also interacting with the locals.
You will proceed to the lodge for lunch and later engage in an evening game drive. You will look out for wildlife species such as African big five like lions, leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos and other game. Return back to our lodge for dinner and overnight AA Mara lodge.
Day 2; morning and evening game drives
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of your game viewing activity in the open savannah plains of the reserve. You will search for a variety of wildlife species since they are more active at this time of day such as the big five which include lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos as well as other wildlife species such as such as giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, elands, zebras, topis among others.
You will enjoy your lunch after your morning game drive as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around the reserve and watch wildlife species grazing in the plains. After lunch, you will have another game drive in the reserve and then proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at AA Mara lodge.
Day 3; drive to Lake Nakuru national park
On the 3rd day of your 12 days Kenya and Uganda Safari, You will have breakfast at your lodge in Masai Mara national reserve and then check out of the lodge as you continue your journey to Lake Nakuru national park across the rift valley escarpment as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around you.
You will have lunch and engage in a game drive in Lake Nakuru national park and you will visit the flamingo filled Lake Nakuru which is a good birding spot to see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores as well as other bird species and wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will be driven back to your to have your dinner and overnight at Zziwa bush lodge
Day 4; drive to Amboseli national park
Breakfast will be served before you check out of your lodge and continue your drive to Amboseli national park through the rift valley escarpment as you proceed to Nairobi where you will have a stopover for lunch.
After you have had your lunch, you will continue to Amboseli national park where you will have an en route game viewing experience to see wildlife species along the way such as herds of elephants which this national park is known for having and you will also enjoy views of Mt Kilimanjaro on your way to your lodge for check in and to have your dinner and to also spend the night at AA Amboseli lodge
Day 5; full day in Amboseli national park
Your full day adventure in Amboseli national park will begin with breakfast at your lodge and then your guide will drive you around the wilderness of the national park as you search for the different wildlife species such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, zebras, gazelles, kudu, giraffes, elands as well as various bird species.
You will have lunch and later you will have another wildlife viewing experience and to enjoy photography as you catch sight of the beautiful sunset with the back drop of Mt Kilimanjaro. After your evening game drive, you will return to your lodge for your dinner and overnight at AA Amboseli lodge.
Day 6; drive to Nairobi
After having breakfast at the lodge, your guide will drive you to Nairobi. You will check in at your hotel in Nairobi and relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Le Maison Royale hotel.
Day 7; flight to Entebbe
On the 7th day of your 12 days Kenya and Uganda Safari, Your guide will drive you from your hotel in Nairobi to the airport for your flight to Entebbe. On arrival in Entebbe international airport, you will be picked up by your Uganda guide and have a briefing and after you have been briefed, you will proceed to your hotel in Entebbe where you will have dinner spend the night.
Dinner and overnight at 2 friends hotel Entebbe
Day 8; drive to Bwindi national park
Your guide will pick you from the hotel in Entebbe and transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have brief stopover at the equator to take photos and later at Mbarara for lunch.
After lunch, continue to the park arriving late in the afternoon. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and later relax at the lodge for the evening.
Dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.
Day 9; gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest
You will have breakfast early in the morning at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park as you prepare for your gorilla trekking activity. Your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for your briefing about the procedures and rules of the gorilla trekking activity.
After being allocated ranger guides, you will trek into the impenetrable Bwindi forest in search of the gorillas which you will spend with about 1 hour. During your gorilla trek, you will also see other primate species in the forest. You will spend approximately an hour taking photos, interacting with and admiring their wild nature before returning to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma haven lodge.
Day 10; drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast at the lodge, you will start your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park which is home to the famous tree climbing lions. You will be driven to your lodge in Bwindi national park where you will spend the night at Elephant hab lodge.
Day 11; game drive and boat ride
Morning game drive/ lion tracking experience
On the 11th day of your 12 days Kenya and Uganda Safari, After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to spot different animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, waterbucks which will be grazing in open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas which will be looking for a morning hunt, view bird species among others. After the game drive you will have lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise
After lunch you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water channel that connect lake Edward and lake George. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours, you will be able to view large herds of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks drinking water along the shores, view water birds like hornbills, cormorants, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight at Elephant hab lodge.
Day 12; departure
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will drive you to the airport or hotel in Entebbe or Kampala which will bring your safari to an end.
