10 Days Tanzania Safari Tour : When is the best time to visit Tanzania for this 10 days Tanzania tour package? Although this package is offered year-round, the optimum time to visit Tanzania is from June to September. Animals are simple to identify because of the dry season and the sparse foliage. The Great Migration and the Mara River crossing in the Serengeti National Park can both be seen at their best during this period. Since it is the busiest travel period, hotels may be booked months in advance. Because of the primarily cold and dry weather, it is also one of the finest times to travel to Zanzibar Island.
The shoulder season, which lasts from October to February, features warmer weather and moderate rainfall. The timing is ideal for seeing birds. When the herds are in the southern Serengeti in January for calving, you can also anticipate seeing a lot of species there. Since it is a slower travel time, hotel rates may be lower than during the busiest times. March to May should be avoided because of the period’s frequent rains because it is a hot and dry time of year. December to February is also an excellent season to visit Zanzibar.

In order of size, Tarangire is Tanzania’s seventh-largest national park, following Nyerere, Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi. A game drive through the wilderness will be one of the activities, and you’ll get to witness lions, leopards, and other animals as well as pythons climbing trees. Keep an eye out for the screeching flocks of vibrant yellow-collared lovebirds, as well as the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling, for bird lovers. All of these are unique to Tanzania’s arid savannah region in the north.
DAY 3: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
On the 3rd day of your 10 Days Tanzania Safari Tour, After breakfast, we’ll head out on a walking safari with an armed professional ranger in tow. There will be another game drive in the Tarangire National Park in the afternoon. Large herds of elephants, lions that can scale trees, and the amazing baobab trees—also known as the Tree of Life because of the nearly mystical significance certain civilizations place on them—may all be found in this park. The Tarangire River, which runs through this park year-round and is the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons, is its most notable feature.
DAY 4: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
We will travel to Lake Manyara National Park for another thrilling wildlife drive after breakfast. The picturesque Lake Manyara National Park is what inspired Ernest Hemingway to call it “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” The ideal place to learn about Tanzania’s birdlife is Manyara. There are more than 400 species known, and if you’re lucky, you might see 100 of them in a single day. The famed tree-climbing lions of Manyara and the massively tusked elephants of the park prefer to hang out in a narrow band of acacia woodland that is located inside the floodplain.
DAY 5: NGORONGORO CRATER
On the 5th day of your 10 Days Tanzania Safari Tour, we will leave for a full-day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast. The famed Ngorongoro Crater is the center of this vast highland region that extends along the Great Rift Valley’s eastern arm. It was created to preserve wildlife and other natural resources rather than being a national park in the traditional meaning of the term. It exists to enhance tourism and protect the rights of indigenous people. Due to the incredible diversity of wildlife in the area, safari goers enjoy the unique opportunity of observing Maasai shepherds with their cattle.
DAY 6-7 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we will leave for the Serengeti National Park, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch and a game drive via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most well-known national park. The Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recently named the “7th Wonder of the World,” is famous for its annual migration, during which about six million hooves pound the wide plains. See a true case of survival of the fittest as these creatures swim across crocodile-infested waterways between July and October. Before the 1,000 km (600 mile) trek starts anew, the wildebeest gives birth to more than 8,000 calves per day.
With its large herds of buffalo, more intimately sized herds of elephant and giraffe, as well as countless eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle, the Serengeti provides one of the most unique opportunities in all of Africa for watching unusual game.
DAY 8-9: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (NORTH LOMBO)
After breakfast, we’ll go north of the Serengeti to the wilderness for a full day of wildlife viewing while following the Great Migration’s paths. Witness millions of wildebeests, each driven by the same ancient rhythm and performing its instinctive function in the inevitable cycle of life. During a frenzied three-week period of territorial conquests and mating, survival of the fittest is demonstrated as 40km (25 miles) long columns of wildebeests plunge through crocodile-infested waters on their annual migration north.
DAY 10: BACK TO ARUSHA
