Day 1: Arrival to Uganda

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, your driver guide will meet you and transfer to your Hotel for overnight. Depending on time of the arrival we may start brief birding around Entebbe area e.g. the botanical gardens for the Orange Weaver and a variety of other birds as we start our 14 days Uganda birding safari. Continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Mabamba swamp to Lake Mburo

Leave early in the morning after our cup of tea for Mabamba swamp birding enroute.  we have a chance to see  a variety of weavers on the way, African black headed Oriole, Black Bishop, and many others. In Mabamba swamp, we shall take a hand paddled canoe in search for the majestic Shoebill. We will also enjoy more here with a variety of water birds like the Purple swampen, Black Crake, Purple and Squacco Herons, Malachite King fisher, to mention but a few. After the swamp we transfer to Lake Mburo national park lunch with lunch enroute. We will reach and check in our lodge later in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3:Lake Mburo

After breakfast we go for a morning game drive in search for animals like Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Topis, Buffaloes, Giraffes, hippos to mention but a few.  We also enjoy the wide range of bird species at the park like: Red Faced Barbet, Bare faced Go-away-bird, Tabora Cisticola to mention but a few afternoon we shall go for a boat ride in search for the African Finfoot here we have a chance to see a variety of water birds overnight.

Day 4:lake Mburo to Kisoro

Morning transfer to Kisoro birding Ecuya forest enroute in search for a variety of Albertine rift endemics and other forest species overnight

Day 5: Birding in Mgahinga NP

Morning birding at  Mgahinga NP, we shall bird Sabinyo and the Gorge in search for Rwenzori Turaco, Kivu ground Thrush, Stripe-breasted Tit, Shelly’s Crimson wing, Rwenzori Batis to mention but a few, overnight

Day 6: Mgahinga NP to Queen Elizabeth National park

After our morning breakfast, we transfer to Queen  Elizabeth NP via Ishasha sector . We land in to the Uganda’s desily populated birding destination with over a half of the Uganda bird species. The park is much famous of the tree climbing lions and other game like Elephants, Buffaloes, Hyenas, topis, Leopards, oribi, Gazelles and others.  We have a good chance of seeing different bird species like: Temminck’s Courser, Senegal Lap wing, Black-crowned Lapwing, African Crake, common Button quail, Blue Quail, Bee eaters, Bul bul, Broad-tailed Warbler, a variety of raptors.

Day 7:Full day Queen Elizabeth

Morning game drive in Kasenyi side as we search for Elephants, Lions, Hyena, Leopard, Uganda Kobs and a variety of Savanna birds like the: Temminck’s Courser, Senegal Lap wing, Black-crowned Lapwing, African Crake, common Button quail, Blue Quail, kori bustard, kinfishers, eagles, herons, little Egret, Cattle Egret, the secretary bird here. After the game drive we drive back to our lodge for lunch, aftr lunch we go  for a cruise on Kazinga channel where we may have a chance to see a variety of water birds, African Immigrants, Hippos, Crocodiles, cape Buffalos, Elephants to mention but a few  as well as water birds.

Day 8:Transfer to Kibale forest national park.

Drive to Fort portal birding enroute, afternoon we may bird the Crater area for Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Giant Kingfisher, Yellow bellied Waxbill to mention but a few overnight

Day 9:Chimpanzee tracking

After an early morning breakfast, we walk to Kibaale Forest NP reported to be home to the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in the world. Thirteen (13) different species have been identified here. We go for Chimp tracking, where we may have a chance to see a variety of other primates e.g. the Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet, L’Hoerst and Red tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Red, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, here we have a chance to bird the Forest in search for the green-breasted Pitta, Western bronze-napped Pigeon, Many-colored Bush shrike, to mention but a few. Afternoon Swamp walks in Bigodi wetland for the Papyrus endemics and a variety of primate’s  overnight

Day 10:Birding in Fort portal

Transfer to Budongo birding Kibaale forest western part of Fort portal birding enroute, where we have a chance to see Luhder’s, many colored Bush shrikes, Cassin’s grey flycatcher, African Black duck, White napped and Afep Pigeons, white-headed Cuckoo, Joyful Greenbul and many others  overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Budongo forest

Morning drive to Budongo forest again and this time birding the Royal Mile in search for Cassin’s Hawk Eagle, Nahan’s Francolin, Chocolate-backed and Dwarf Kingfisher, Brown-backed Scrub-Robin and many  more. Afternoon bird the Busingiro area. Overnight

Day 12:Transfer to Murchison falls

Morning bird the main road in search for Ituri Batis, White-spotted Greenbull, Forest Robin, Narina Trogon to mention but a few after transfer to Murchison Falls NP, on arrival bird the escarpment in search for Foxy Cisticola, Cliff chats, Western Violet backed Sunbird, chestnut crowned sparrow, Cinnamon Bunting, Red-winged, yellow winged and Green Pytlias, Black Billed Barbet and many others overnight

Day 13:Game drive and Boat cruise

Morning cross with a ferry for a game drive to the Delta for the Shoebill stork and other water birds. Animals we are likely to see include: the Lion, Leopards, Giraffes, Oribis, Hartebeests, and Elephants, to mention but a few. Bird here include: the Carmine bee Eaters, Abyssinian ground Hornbills and many others. Afternoon boat ride to the bottom of the fall—a magical trip through a beautiful scenery; The whole of the 50 meters wide Nile River is forced into a gap only 7 meters wide – the immense force of the water and the views of the falls are awe inspiring. Here we may have a chance to Variety water birds, schools of Hippos and Crocodiles. Evening drive to the top of the falls, here we may have a chance to see the Pel’s fishing Owl, Rock Prantincoles, Bat Hawk, we may bird till late as we try looking for the night Jars  overnight

Day 14: Departure

Early morning drive to Kampala via Kaniyo Pabidi birding in search for Puvel’s Illadopsis; we have a chance to see the Rufous sided broadbill and a variety of forest birds, transfer to the airport for your flight. End of our 14 days Uganda birding safari

Our package prices include; accommodations and meals, park entrance fees, boat cruises, vehicle hire with fuel and driver guide, ranger guide fees, guided nature walks, chimp tracking permit, forest walk fees and swamp walk fees, ferry crossing in Murchison falls NP

Not included in our package prices are tips, drinks, personal insurance, anything not included in the itinerary. Also not included are things of personal nature, e.g. laundry, communication e.t.c.
