Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali city
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport with your confirmed booked flight, you will be met by your drive, meet and greet, pack your luggage in the safari vehicle and drive to your booked accommodation in Kigali city. Dinner and overnight stay at Kigali Serena Hotel /Kigali Marriot Hotel/Four Points by Sheraton Hotel – Luxury Hotels
Day 2: Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your safari driver and transfer to Volcanoes national park. You will first explore Kigali city on a city tour visiting the Kigali genocide memorial site and other sites. Thereafter, proceed to Musanze which is about 2-3 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check-in at booked hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at 5 Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge/Virunga Inn Resort/One and Only Gorilla Nest/Bistate Lodge – Luxury options
Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience – Visit Ibywacu cultural village
After breakfast, transfer to the park offices for briefing about the mountain gorillas in the mist, and thereafter enter into the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas, it takes about 2-8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. On finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour, take amazing photos and videos.
After trekking, connect to visit Iby’wacu Cultural Village-a Non-Profit umbrella organization that aims at improving the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park through provision of conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development and livelihood based projects. It’s a rewarding place where you will be guided around the place as you enjoy the Kinyarwanda traditions including the Intore dance, traditional ceremonies and a guided community walk. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 4: Return to Kigali – Departure
After breakfast, check-out of the lodge and embark on your journey back to Kigali where you will either be dropped off at your own booked hotel or airport for your return flight back home, marking the end of the 4 Days trip.
